Join us for an insightful webinar on “Designing Computational Tools for Behavioral and Clinical Science” on November 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM US Eastern Time (2:00 PM CET, 8:00 PM Beijing Time), via Zoom.
Prof. Dr. Albert Ali Salah from Utrecht University, Netherlands, will explore how computational methods and artificial intelligence can support behavioral and clinical sciences through the automatic analysis of human affective and social signals.
The talk will highlight key opportunities and challenges in interdisciplinary research connecting computer science and psychology, including the role of data-driven and theory-driven approaches. Drawing on examples from interactive play therapy with children and the diagnosis of bipolar disorder using multimodal cues, the webinar will demonstrate how AI can support behavioral monitoring and clinical decision-making.
Particular attention will be given to facial expressions, body movements, gestures, speech, and multimodal analysis, as well as the importance of explainability and interpretability in developing trustworthy AI systems for behavioral and clinical applications.
The webinar will be relevant to researchers, practitioners, students, and professionals working in computer vision, affective computing, behavioral analysis, multimodal AI, and clinical applications of machine learning.
