The IEEE Biometrics Council supports three Schools on Biometrics (the Winter School, the Summer School, and the LATAM Summer School), as well as bi-monthly webinars. The Winter School on Biometrics has been organized in Shenzen, China, since 2018, and the Summer School on Biometrics in Alghero, Italy, since 2009. The LATAM Summer School is organized in the Latin American region, with the first edition held in 2024.

The Schools will include lectures, hands-on sessions, and strong interactions among participants and leading experts from around the world.

Given the quick advances on biometric technology and identity sciences, the main goal of the schools is to give the participants the technological and methodological tools to develop their research activity and to build professional connections.

Winter School on Biometrics

The Winter School on Biometrics includes lectures, hands-on sessions, talks from industry and social programme. It has been organized in Shenzen, China, since 2018.
