Be the leading and driving force within and outside the IEEE for the advancement and sustainability of the field of biometrics. Our Mission is to serve the members of our member societies and the worldwide biometrics technical community through the organization and support of high-quality conferences, workshops, and journals.
The IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity Science (T-BIOM) publishes original articles on all aspects of biometrics (i.e. recognizing people through their physiological or behavioral traits such as face, fingerprint, iris, and signature), including theory, applications, systems, and surveys.
The council supports several conferences and scientific gatherings on biometrics including The IEEE International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB), IEEE conference series on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG) and more.
The IEEE Biometrics Council has several (joint) chapters as well as student branch chapters worldwide and is growing. The local biometrics chapters propose and organize a wide variety of technical activities related to biometrics to serve local young researchers, academics as well as industrial professionals.
