The IEEE Biometrics Council – Madras Section Chapter (CH11143) was officially inaugurated through a virtual ceremony on 12 November 2025, marking a significant milestone in strengthening biometrics-focused research, collaboration, and community engagement within the Madras Section.
The event featured distinguished addresses by Prof. Raghavendra Ramachandra, Vice President (Finance), IEEE Biometrics Council, and Dr Sakthivel P, Chair, IEEE Madras Section, who highlighted global opportunities in biometrics and the role of IEEE in nurturing students and professionals. The ceremony also included the formal installation of the Chapter’s founding officers, followed by presentations outlining the Chapter’s vision, member engagement plans, and future initiatives.
The inauguration brought together students, professionals, and volunteers, setting the foundation for impactful technical programs, industry collaboration, and active participation in IEEE Biometrics Council activities.
