The 14th IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG 2019) will be held in Lille, France, 14 -18 May 2019. The IEEE conference series on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition is the premier international forum for research in image and video-based face, gesture, and body movement recognition. Its broad scope includes: advances in fundamental computer vision, pattern recognition and computer graphics; machine learning techniques relevant to face, gesture, and body motion; new algorithms and applications. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Face recognition & biometrics
- Face analysis and synthesis
- Body action and activity recognition
- Psychological and behavioral analysis
- Computer vision and machine learning in affective computing and multi-modal interaction
- Gesture recognition, analysis and synthesis
- Technologies and applications

Paper Awards and Journal Special Issue
FG 2019 will include awards for best paper, best student paper, and best poster papers. The best FG’19 papers will be selected for a special issue of the Journal of Image and Vision Computing (This has not been confirmed).
Special Sessions
The three-day main conference will also include two or three Special Sessions to highlight research frontiers in the field of FG and the relevant opportunities in emerging thematic areas. These Special Sessions will emphasize “Frontiers in FG” in the face and gesture recognition research field.
Demo Sessions and Exhibition
Demo sessions will give researchers the opportunity to display, in an interactive setting, new methods and technologies, system prototypes, and experimental features of mature systems. An exhibition session will feature exhibits from industry to inform the research community of commercialization of research results in the field, initiate discussion about the state of the art in real-world applications, and cross-fertilize the knowledge and the ideas about the future of research.
Social Program
The social activities will include a reception and a banquet.
