Welcome to the IEEE Bombay Section Biometrics Council Chapter (BSBCC BIO46).

Officially formed on May 16, 2024, the IEEE Bombay Section Biometrics Council Chapter has quickly established itself as a pivotal entity for professionals and researchers in the field of biometric recognition. With a robust membership of 215, including student members, graduate student members, senior members, and professional members, our Chapter is a vibrant and diverse community committed to advancing biometric technologies.

The IEEE Biometrics Council encompasses a broad spectrum of activities related to biometric recognition, ranging from the theoretical foundations to the practical implementation of sensors and algorithms. This includes the development of methodologies for signal and image processing, data interpretation, and the integration of these technologies into comprehensive systems and applications. The Council’s work covers physiological, behavioral, and cognitive biometric characteristics, aiming to enhance the security, efficiency, and user experience of biometric systems.

Our Chapter seeks to provide a multidisciplinary forum for discussing challenges and innovations in biometrics, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among academics, industry professionals, and students. We aim to serve as a central hub for information dissemination, networking, and professional development within the biometrics community in the Bombay region. Through various events, activities, and resources, we strive to contribute to the growth and excellence of biometrics research and application, benefitting the local and global community.
