The Mission of the IEEE Biometrics Council is to advance, promote and coordinate work in the field of biometric technology and applications throughout IEEE, and to expand IEEE's role in this interdisciplinary field.
The field of interest of the Council is the theory, design and application of biometric characterization of human beings, based on physiological and/or behavioral features and traits, in particular for identification, identity verification, authentication, encryption, recognition and medical diagnosis.
The Council promotes technical activities, sponsors technical meetings and sessions, publishes periodicals, promotes educational activities, develops standards, and engages in any other activity defined within its fields of interest.Read more...
